Pemabwe is a luxury lodge seeking to elevate its brand presence within an increasingly competitive hospitality market. This project focused on refining the existing brand identity and designing a website that reflects a modern, high-end experience while preserving the essence of the original brand.
In today’s hyper-competitive luxury hospitality landscape, branding plays a critical role in perception and desirability. The challenge was to modernise Pemabwe’s identity without losing its heritage, creating a refined and luxurious brand expression that appeals to contemporary travellers.
The new brand identity is a streamlined evolution of the original logo, removing visual clutter while retaining recognisable brand elements.
Sleek typography paired with a refined, luxe colour palette elevates Pemabwe’s positioning, reinforcing its status as a modern luxury lodge.
The visual identity draws inspiration from natural rock formations—specifically the shapes and shadows created when light falls across stone. These organic forms informed the creation of a bespoke pattern system resembling mabwe (stones) and their shadows, supported by a colour palette that exudes depth, sophistication, and high-end quality.
The result is a cohesive brand and digital presence that positions Pemabwe as a contemporary luxury destination, designed to attract and inspire discerning guests.
Following the logo development, the project progressed into website design and development, translating the new visual language into a digital experience that enhances Pemabwe Lodge’s look and feel.
In collaboration with Waloko Studios, the art direction and visual storytelling were crafted to capture the unique atmosphere and refined luxury of the lodge.
